My Preaching Vision Statement:

 

I will preach the inerrant, infallible, Word of the Living God

because I am commanded to:

 

1. "Preach the word! Be ready in season & out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering & teaching." (2 Timothy 4:2)

 

2.  Preach "for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ," (Ephesians 4:12)

 

3. "Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly;" (1 Peter 5:2)

 

4. Take heed to yourselves & to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood." (Acts 20:28)

 

5. Preach the Word Because "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

 

6. Preach because I’m promised God’s , “word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”  Isaiah 55:11

 

7. Therefore I "preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness," (1 Corinthians 1:23)

Philosophy of Ministry:

 

I will proclaim, preach, & teach the Word of God, allowing the Holy Spirit to empower and guide my calling & ministry with the all-important task of impacting & transforming lives by:

  1.  Encouraging personal intimacy (abiding) Christ & the Word; encouraging belief, maturity, obedience, & trust in Christ (growth);

  2. To foster  and heighten ones appreciation, awe, love, & dedication with Christ & His church body (lifestyle worship);

  3. To challenge, encourage, & equip the church body to become reproducers of  Christ and His Word (discipleship);

  4. To help the body of Christ understand, engage, & use their spiritual gifts, talents, time, and treasures (ministry) to glorify Christ’s name on a local, state, national, & international level;

with great hope & anticipation that those whom I have been made an under shepherd will take the life transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ, striving to share the gift of salvation (evangelism) as they actively teach and mentor others through intentional relationships to become followers of Christ also.

MY MINISTRY PHILOSOPHY...

WHY AND HOW I DESRIE TO DO MINISTRY

Since I am a servant of the Living God, I must daily maintain a servant mentality, Christ like humility, and radical dedication to become the godly servant leader to all with the hopes of winning some with the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ(1 Cor. 9:19).  I am to be totally sold out to the word, work, and will of my Savior Jesus Christ as I seek to model him daily in my life (Jn 4:34).  Christ must increase daily in my life as I and my selfish desires decrease (James 3:30).  I must strive to become that living sacrifice (Rom. 12:1-2), that new creation that Christ (2 Cor. 5:17), and commit to the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18) that Christ has called me to.  Christ must become my main priority, focus, and aim in life if I am to lead others to do the same.  Therefore, the following is the why and how I will strive to do ministry in the name of Jesus Christ: 

 

My CALL as a Minister/Pastor/Shepherd:

  • I am called by our triune God, not man nor through man – Isaiah. 43:10, John 15:16, Acts 20:28, Galatians 1:1

  • I am counted faithful and trustworthy by Christ – 1 Timothy 1:12

  • My calling is a gift of God’s amazing grace – Ephesians 3:7-8

  • I am a steward and a servant who belongs to God – 1 Corinthians 4:1

  • I am God’s ambassador for Christ committed to the ministry of reconciliation – 2 Corinthians 5:18-21

  • I am to present my body and life as a living sacrifice, understanding that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit – John 14:16-17, Romans 12:1-2, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:19-20, Romans 8:9

My AIM as a Minister/Pastor/Shepherd:

  • I will strive to know, believe, and understand God personally, to have His mind – Isaiah 43:10, Philippians 2:5-11

  • I must strive to live what I proclaim in Christ Jesus – Romans 2:21-24, Matthew 7:21-23, Titus 1:16

  • I will strive daily to become the new living creations that Christ desires me to be – 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 4:22-24, Colossians 3:9-10

  • I will strive daily to love God above all and others above myself – Matthew 22:37-40, Philippians 2:1-4

  • I will strive to know Christ and the power of His resurrection – Philippians 3:10-11

  • I will strive daily to be filled with the Spirit, not the perishing things of the world – Ephesians 5:18

  • I will strive daily to have the mind of Christ – 2 Corinthians 10:5, Philippians 2:1-11

  • I will strive to learn from the past and push forward toward the prize – Philippians 3:13-14

  • I will strive to magnify Christ in my life totally – Philippians 1:20, Romans 12:1-2

  • I will strive for daily consistency and longevity in my walk and ministry with Christ as others are watching and learning – 2 Corinthians 6:3-10, 4:8-10

  • I will be and remain faithful regardless of the trials, tests, or temptations in life until I see Christ face to face – 1 Corinthians 4:1-2, Acts 20:24, 2 Timothy 4:7-8

  • I will consistently and constantly examine myself, lest I become disqualified, unfit, and rejected – 2 Corinthians 13:5

  • I will daily seek the Kingdom and the righteousness of Christ – Matthew 6:33

  • I will strive to live a crucified life in Christ which is a life of denial  and sacrifice, surrender and service; fleeing youthful lusts and the things of the world – Luke 9:23, Romans 6:11, 2 Corinthians 4:10-11, Galatians 2:20, 5:24, Romans 12:2, 2 Timothy 2:3-4

  • I will strive to discipline and subject my body and life to Christ, spiritually and physically – 1 Corinthians 9:27, 1 Timothy 4:8

  • I will strive to be a man of prayer, daily growing in my intimacy with my Lord; praying for those things that affect me and those under my care – Matthew 6:9-13, 1 Timothy 2:1-4, James 5:16-18, Luke 10:2, John 4:35-36, Galatians 6:9, Romans 10:14-15

My PURPOSE as a Minister/Pastor/Shepherd:

  • I am to pattern the glorious truth that God saves sinners being a daily reminder to all of the marvelous grace and mercy of God – 1 Timothy 1:16, 4:12, Titus 2:6-8

  • I am to be obedient to the Great Commission and lead and direct God’s children to do the same “Make Disciples” – Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, 2 Timothy 2:2

  • I am to be an unashamed strong, bold, constant, spirit-filled, and obedient witness/ambassador for Christ to all people/nations – 2 Timothy 1:8, Titus 2:14-15, 2 Corinthians 5:20, Mark 5:19, 16:15, Acts 22:15, Jeremiah 20:9, 1 Peter 3:5, Acts 1:8, 2 Corinthians 4:13

  • I am to hold fast to, preach, and teach sound biblical doctrine, not mishandling it for any reason – Titus 2:1, 1 Timothy 1:3-4, 4:1-2, 16, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Acts 18:11, 2 Corinthians 4:1-2

  • I am to proclaim and teach Christ crucified, buried, and risen – 1 Corinthians 1:23, 2:1-2, 15:1-4, Acts 8:35

  • I am to proclaim and teach concerning the Kingdom of God, Heaven, and Jesus’ second coming – Mark 1:14-15, Acts 28:31, John 3:3, Mark 10:15, Matthew 6:33, 2 Peter 3:10-13

  • I am to proclaim the Gospel with great urgency because Jesus is coming again to judge the living and the dead – 1 Corinthians 9:16, Hebrews 9:27

  • I am to proclaim/preach in the power of the Holy Spirit, not my own – 1 Corinthians 2:4-5, Acts 4:20, John 6:8-11

  • I am to proclaim the whole counsel of God to please God, not man – 1 Thessalonians 2:4-5

  • I am to proclaim and preach the the Cross of the crucified Christ – Galatians 6:12-14, 1 Corinthians 4:5

  • I am to guard against those who seek to divide, destroy, and resist the Truth of the Word of God, who wish to introduce false teaching into the body of Christ – 1 Timothy 6:3-5, 2 Timothy 3:8-9, Jude 4, 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, Matthew 18:15-17

  • I must guard against proclaiming another gospel nor another Jesus except that within the Holy Scriptures– Galatians 1:6-9, 2 Corinthians 11:4, 13-15

  • I must guard against traditions, idea’s, and commands that are unbiblical – Matthew 15:6-9, Titus 1:14, Isaiah 29:13

  • I have the grace and power of Christ – 2 Corinthians 9:8, 12:9-10, 1 Corinthians 1:3-4

  • I have the presence and power of the Holy Spirit – Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 2:12

  • I have the power and presence of Almighty God -2 Corinthians 4:7

  • I have the assurance of victory given by my triune God – 2 Corinthians 2:14

  • I have been assigned at least one spiritual gift by the Holy Spirit – Ephesians 4:11, 1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12:6-8

  • I have been given faith to help keep me consistent in ministry – Ephesians 6:16, 1 John 5:4-5

  • I have been given the love of God to compel me in ministry – 2 Corinthians 5:14

  • I have been given the promise of the glorious resurrection to sustain me in ministry – 2 Corinthians 4:14, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Titus 2:12-13, Philippians 3:10-11

 

 

My COMMISSION as a Minister/Pastor/Shepherd:

  • I must lead the people of God to Worship in spirit and truth – John 4:23-24, Psalm 96:9, 100, Hebrews 10:24-25, Matthew 4:10

  • I must model and serve after Christ’s example and direction only so the body may follow my example as I follow Christ – Matthew 20:26-28, Luke 4:18-19

  • I must model seeking and proclaiming the gospel to those who are lost – John 20:21, Luke 19:10

  • I must minister with a great sense of urgency as the Lord is coming again to bring about final judgment – John 4:35, Luke 10:10, Galatians 6:8-9

  • I must preach the whole counsel of the Living Word of God – 2 Timothy 4:1-2, 1 Corinthians 1:18-21, 9:16, Matthew 10:7, 27, Mark 16:15

  • I must instruct and teach the whole counsel of the Living Word of God – 1 Timothy 4:11, 2 Timothy 1:10-11, 2:2, Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 18:11

  • I must edify, build up and equip the saints the work of the ministry – Ephesians 4:11-13, Titus 1:9, John 8:31-32, Hebrews 6:1

  • I must feed the sheep of the Lords flock in order to ground them in their belief, faith, and walk in Jesus Christ – John 21:17, 1 Peter 5:2-3, Jeremiah 3:15, 23:4, Ezekiel 34:23

  • I must watch over and give stern warning to each believer entrusted to my care – Hebrews 13:17, Isaiah 62:6, Jeremiah 6:17, Ezekiel 3:17, 33:6-9

  • I must exhort believes to “go and make disciples” – Matthew 28:18-20

  • I am to put on and exhort others to put on the whole amour of God – Ephesians 6:10-18

  • I am to show and help others study, meditate, memorize, and obey the Holy Scriptures – 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:14, 1 Timothy 4:15, Colossians 3:16, Psalm 119:11, Jeremiah 15:16

  • I am to model and disciple others to grow in their prayer time with great awe, consistency, fervency, and reverence to our Heavenly Father – Ephesians 3:14-19, 6:18, 1 Timothy 2:1-4, Mark 1:35, Luke 6:12, 22:41-42

  • I am to model to the body how to go out into this antagonistic hostile world in the power, presence, and peace of the Lord and remain faithful claiming Christ’s victory daily – Luke 10:3, Acts 20:29-31, John 15:20

  • I am to model how to love those who are my enemies, those who curse, hate, persecute, and despitefully intend to do evil against me – Matthew 5:44, Romans 12:20, 1 Thessalonians3:12, 1 John 4:7

  • I must model and lead the body through the suffering that we will incur – 2 Corinthians 1:3-11, Hebrews 2:16-18, 4:15-16, John 14:18

  • I must model and show through example that God’s grace is sufficient in all things – 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

 

As you may already know, as a pastor of God’s body I have a great responsibility that is only possible because of His presence, power, purpose, and plan.  I am just fortunate and blessed that He chose and is using me in His Story.  I pray for the grace and mercy every day to show myself faithful.
